About Girlfriends Brow Bar
Girlfriends Brow Bar is a women-led brow and lash studio founded in British Columbia in 2013 by Aneet Brar.
Today, we have five studios across BC, including our Vancouver studio in Kitsilano, with a team specializing in Brow Threading, Brow Tinting, Brow Lamination, Brow Henna, Lash Lifts, Facial Threading and other natural beauty services.
Over the years, our work has been recognized through community-voted awards, business awards and nominations across British Columbia.
Most recently, Girlfriends Brow Bar received Silver for Best Eyebrow Services at the Best of Kelowna 2026, following Silver in 2025 and Gold for Best Eyebrow Services in 2022.
Our founder, Aneet Brar, was also named a finalist for Woman of the Year at the 2025 RISE Awards, presented by Kelowna Women in Business, while Girlfriends Brow Bar was recognized as a finalist for BIPOC Owned Business of the Year at the 40th Annual Business Excellence Awards.

RISE Awards: Woman of the Year Finalist
In 2025, Girlfriends Brow Bar founder Aneet Brar was named a finalist for Woman of the Year at the RISE Awards, presented by Kelowna Women in Business.
For Aneet, the recognition represented more than her own journey as a business owner. It connected to something that has shaped Girlfriends Brow Bar from the beginning: women empowering women.
Women Empowering Women
Girlfriends Brow Bar may be known for brows, but the story behind the business began generations earlier.
Aneet credits three women in particular with shaping the way she approaches her life and her business: her grandmother and her mother. Both pursued education in India at a time when educational opportunities for many girls and women were limited, and they encouraged equal access to education for the girls in their families.
More than education itself, Aneet says they gave her the confidence to believe that women should be able to dream, build and choose their own path. Girlfriends Brow Bar is an extension of that belief. Aneet arrived in Canada in 2003 with two suitcases and hopes of building a new life.
In 2013, she started Girlfriends Brow Bar as a small home-based salon in Prince George. What began with one woman serving clients grew through word of mouth and community support. Today, Girlfriends Brow Bar has five studios across British Columbia and a team made up predominantly of women.
The goal has never been simply to grow the number of locations. It is to create an environment where women feel comfortable, listened to and confident — both the women who visit our studios and the women who work in them.
Our approach to beauty follows the same philosophy. We believe in listening first, understanding what each client wants, and tailoring the service to the individual rather than treating every face the same. Because the result should still feel like you.
Celebrating Other Women in Business
Supporting women does not stop with our own team.
Through our Girlfriend Spotlight series, we have shared the stories of women building businesses, careers and communities across British Columbia.
The series has featured women from different industries and backgrounds, with one purpose: to give more visibility to women whose work and stories deserve to be seen.
There is no requirement to be a Girlfriends Brow Bar client and no expectation of anything in return.
It is simply one way we can use our platform to celebrate other women doing meaningful work.

Supporting Guru Nanak's Free Food Langar
Girlfriends Brow Bar raised $1,773 for Guru Nanak’s Free Food Langar, a Prince George community initiative providing meals to people in need.
Our clients helped make the fundraiser possible through their appointments & donations, and the initiative was recognized by the Prince George Citizen.
Giving back and supporting the communities that have supported us is incredibly important to Girlfriends Brow Bar.
Supporting Phoenix Chamber Choir
In April 2026, Girlfriends Brow Bar donated in support of the Phoenix Chamber Choir’s online auction.
The connection came through Hannah, a Kitsilano client and member of the choir.
For us, that is what community often looks like: people supporting the people and organizations around them.
